Marble counters, tables, floors, and more seem to be all the rage these days even though its use in art and construction, especially in Europe, has spanned thousands of years. Our latest floating shelves couldn’t help but remind us of the soft, gradual lines of a marble slab, which is why we had to feature them this weekend on the blog.
These three shelves look and feel rich. Each one is made from highly figured cherry wood, which offers that marbleized look but completely natural in the grain.
The wood comes from locally sourced turning blank lumber, which we then hand cut, tapered, and sanded to a super silky texture, and finally coated with a clear tung oil for a soft finish.
The shelves are designed to hang with the tapered side up or down. Though they are secure, they can slide off the mounting easy enough that you can flip them over faster than you can change your mind! Place your favorite succulents, candles, and more on each one for your own personal touch.
Check out our shop listing to see more details about these shelves. We are so excited to share them – let us know what you think!
