We have been hard at work in our wood shop designing and making some new floating shelves for you! Our latest collection features all sets of two, perfect for framing your desk, fireplace, hutch, or hanging vertically on an accent wall. This particular set here also boasts a thinner edge line than our last collection, making them even more sleek!
The wood comes from locally sourced turning blank lumber, which we then hand cut, tapered, and sanded to a super silky texture, and finally coated with a clear tung oil for a soft finish.
The shelves are designed to hang with the tapered side up or down. Though they are secure, they can slide off the mounting easy enough that you can flip them over faster than you can change your mind! Place your favorite succulents, candles, and more on each one for your own personal touch.
Living in the United States, the Middle East these days isn’t exactly the it summer vacation destination, but I’m here to tell you in this four-part blog series recapping our recent trip to the region that it is well worth keeping on the table. I’m a little biased when it comes to journeying to the Holy Land. Both of […]
Marble counters, tables, floors, and more seem to be all the rage these days even though its use in art and construction, especially in Europe, has spanned thousands of years. Our latest floating shelves couldn’t help but remind us of the soft, gradual lines of a marble slab, which is why we had to feature them this […]
Minimalism has been consuming our minds. As we head into spring, albeit weeks early, we can’t help but feel the same way about shedding our winter layers as we dream about lightening up our living spaces. Trying to live happily with less stuff, but among things that bring us most joy. Appreciating timeless over trendy, delicate over intricate, and quality over quantity. These are some of the guiding principles we are putting into our wood work. This week, we’re excited to share these lovely cherry wood floating shelves we’ve designed and made in our wood shop. The wood comes from locally sourced turning blank lumber, which we then hand cut, tapered, and sanded to a super silky texture, and finally coated with a clear tung oil for a soft finish.
We are super excited to offer a limited number of our Faire & Goodwin Collection handmade belts via our new Etsy store! These wooden belts are crafted from red oak, locally sourced from trees right here in Ohio. They are hand-sanded, steamed, and then shaped on a mold for two days each before hand stained and adorned with an adjustable gold-plated chain featuring lobster claw hooks and clasps. We have five up for grabs at the moment in brown or white.
At the start of this new year, Pinterest released its list of top 100 trends for 2016, and as far as home interiors go, grey walls has climbed towards the top of the list. I happen to love the color grey. Neither black nor white, but a spectrum in between, it’s non-commitall but makes a statement.
These awesome and completely one-of-a-kind belts will be available soon. Made from 100% locally-sourced red oak and adorned with an adjustable gold-plated chain, these belts are milky smooth, incredibly comfortable, and slimming to boot!
