The first Friday in February marks the 13th annual National Wear Red Day, an American Heart Association event that aims to raise awareness and funds to for heart disease and stroke in women. According to the AHA, one in three women will die from heart disease and stroke, despite it being preventable in more than three-quarters of women diagnosed. That’s a greater threat of the disease than all cancers combined.

To show your support, women are encouraged to not only donate, but to don the color red on this day (and tag with #GoRed on social media!). We’ve compiled a few bold ideas below to get you thinking as you peruse your closet and maybe get you a new outfit for Valentine’s Day next week.
